Parliament has approved six additional ministerial nominees submitted by President John Dramani Mahama, moving his administration closer to completing its ministerial team.
The nominees, vetted by the Appointments Committee and confirmed in two batches on January 23, include Abla Dzifa Gomashie as Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, and Emelia Arthur as Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development.
Other appointments are George Opare Addo as Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Ahmed Ibrahim as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey as Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, and Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare as Minister for Trade, Industry, and Agribusiness.

The approval process was overseen by Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako, which was marked by rigorous debates and eventual consensus between the Majority and Minority caucuses.
