10-man South Korea ease past Black Meteors as Ghana concede 13 goals in three friendlies

The Black Meteors of Ghana on Saturday succumbed to another defeat in a friendly.

The Black Meteors played as guest to the South Korean counterparts at the Jeju World Cup Stadium. Just as in the previous two friendlies against Japan, coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s side lost again.

Black Meteors last Saturday suffered a 6-0 humiliating defeat in the first game at the Fukkuoka Stadium and were on a mission to redeem their image in the second match against Japan.

However, it was the same old story at the Fukkuoka Stadium on Monday. Ghana were white-washed by 4-0 which means that coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s side lost the two matches 10-0 on aggregate.

On Saturday, June 12, Ghana again lost to another Asian team, South Korea 3-1 at the Jeju World Cup Stadium.

The South Korean made their intentions clear from the blast of the referee's whistle.

Despite falling to find the back of the after creating numerous chances in the opening 15 minutes, they finally breached Ghana's defence in the 17th minute when the captain of the side Lee Sang-min rose highest to head home a cross.

The Koreans almost double their advantage in the 30th minute after their midfielder ghosted past Ghana defenders only for his shot to miss the post by inches.

The Koreans were reduced to 10-men 8 minutes to halftime after Kim Jin-Ya made a bad tackle on Samuel Abbey Ashie-Quaye.

Ghana had goalkeeper William Esso to thanked for in first half after he bailed the team out on a couple of occasions as the first department ended 1-0 in favour of the Asian side.

Ghana started the second half purposeful but any hopes of using the 1-man advantage to their benefit were shattered as the Koreans rather doubled their lead.

Lee Seung-Mo reacted quickest to tap home a rebound from a free kick in the 56th minute.

Kyu-Seong Jo bullied the Ghanaian defence to put the game beyond the reach of the West Africa nation before Samuel Obeng reduced the deficit for coach Paa Kwesi Fabin's side.

The two sides will then square off again on June 15 in another friendly match which will be played behind closed doors at the same venue at 11am GMT.
