Andre Ayew posts emotional message on Covid-19 pandemic

With the world coming into the grip of Covid-19 fear, Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has posted an emotional message on social media.

The Ghanaian who also doubles at the assistant captain of Welsh club Swansea City in a post urged everyone to follow the guidelines issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to stay safe in the time of the deadly virus that has taken many lives worldwide.

He further sympathised with those who have lost their loved ones during this difficult moment. He also charged all and sundry to foster unity to combat the virus.

Covid-19 has lead to suspension of a series of sporting events, including the Champions League, Premier League, English Football League Championship, CAF qualifiers, Monaco Grands Prix, ATP and WTA Tours among others.

In Ghana, President Akufo-Addo on Sunday banned all public gatherings including conferences, Sporting events, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies, church activities and other related events as part of measures to stop the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Meanwhile, the confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country shot up to 11 on Thursday.
