Asante Kotoko will face off with Kariobangi Sharks in the CAF Confederations Cup after sharks 3-0 win over Djiboutian outfit Arta Solar7.
The Kenya representatives, who were making their debut in the continental games, sailed to the next stage after seeing off Arta Solar on a 9-1 aggregate after a two-legged clash in the preliminary round.
William Muluya’s charges did not take their chances and continued to press their foot on the gas, opening the scoring in the 27th minute through former Bandari FC and Sony Sugar talisman George Abege after being set up by Sydney Lokale who is fresh from scoring in the Super Cup against Gor Mahia.
In a move of damage control to avoid embarrassment in front of their home fans, Solar7 held Sharks for longer spells of the second half but their defence cracked in the 85th minute when Vincent Wasambo scored.
