Thierry Henry has said goodbye to Monaco fans after being sacked and replaced by Leonardo Jardim.Â
The former Arsenal and Barcelona player replaced Jardim in October but now the Ligue 1club have done a U-turn, and Henry posted a message on social media explaining his thoughts about the decision.Â
He said: 'It is with great sadness that I part company with AS Monaco. Despite the struggles and difficulties that we encountered along my short journey, I have still thoroughly enjoyed my time at this wonderful club.
'I would particularly like to thank (vice president) Vadim Vasilyev and (director) Michael Emenalo who afforded me this opportunity at my boyhood club and of course the fans and staff who have given me such a warm reception during my tenure.Â
'I sincerely hope that my successor will now take AS Monaco onto greater strengths and I wish them all the success for the future, starting with a win in Dijon and lifting the cup and getting us back into Europe!'Â
Henry won four of his 20 matches in charge leaving them 19th in the table, three points from safety.
