Joe Debrah, chairman of the Referees Association of Ghana(RAG) has lauded the Normalisation Committee for the work done so far in reforming Ghana football and he is calling for the extension of their mandate for a further 2years.
The Referee's chairman has been blown away about how the Normalization Committee organised a 5-day integrity course for Ghanaian referee at the West Africa Football Academy(Complex) at Sogakope.Â
The course formed part of the Normalization Committee’s continuing efforts to restore confidence in refereeing and avoid match manipulation at all levels in Ghana.
In all 150 Ghanaian referees took apart in the course but only 20 were given their FIFA badges.Â
"The Normalization Committee has done what I've not seen in my 30yr experience as a referee. During the ref's test, they gave every referee GHC 150 aside giving a room to 2 referees. Technical instructors also got GHC 700 each. I hope they are given 2 more years - said RAG Chairman, Joe Debrah on Kumasi based Sikka FM.
The Normalization Committee was instituted by FIFA after an expose by Anas Aremeyaw Anas led to the banned of over 70 match officials and embattled GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi.
