It appears very difficult but Jordan Ayew is expected to replicate the exploits of his brother Andre Ayew who played for Swansea last season and was exceptional before joining West Ham this season.
Jordan Ayew is planning to stay at Swansea for the long haul after joining the Welsh club from Aston Villa on transfer deadline day.Â
The 25-year-old Ayew signed a three-and-a-half-year contract for Swansea in an exchange deal that saw left-back Neil Taylor go the other way.
And after moving between four different clubs in five years - he was at Sochaux and Lorient before moving to Villa - Ayew intends on settling at Paul Clement's side.Â
'For the past three or four years I have been all over the place,' Ayew said. 'I need stability and I think this is the perfect place for me to grow and improve in a lot of aspects. I think I made a wonderful choice.'I am so grateful to be here. It's the next step in my career.'
Ayew, who will wear the No 3 shirt, revealed he discussed the move with his older brother Andre, who used to play for Swansea before joining West Ham last summer.
'I have been here several times in the past with my brother and I saw a lot of positive things,' Ayew explained.'He spoke to me about the club and he said only good things. It didn't take too long for me to make a decision.'Â
Ayew has been on international duty with Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations. They lost the third-place play-off against Burkina Faso 1-0. Ayew could make his debut for Swansea, who are 17th and a point above the relegation zone, when they face Leicester this weekend. And the striker is confident overall of Swansea's chances of avoiding the drop.Â
'IÂ always knew this team had quality players,' Ayew said. 'The team had hard times last season, and this season didn't start too well.'But the players are the same, and they just need confidence, which they have had in the last month with some fantastic results.'Now we have an important game coming up. I am fit and available, but it's up to the coach whether I play a part or not. It's his decision.'It's a new chapter for me and I'm focused on doing my best for the team by creating assists and scoring goals.'Â
