President Akufo-Addo owns sports academy - Abukari Damba reveals

Former Blackstars Goalkeeper, Abubari Damba has disclosed the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has established a sports academy which seeks to discover and nurture youthful talents.

Abukari Damba disclosed that the love of sports influenced the President to establish a sports academy called 'WillyAddo Sports'.

Abukari Damba is the technical director of the academy.

“I am currently working on a sports project for President Nana Akufo Addo, named WillyAddo Sports, that seeks to discover and nurture youthful talents”, Abubari Damba told Accra based Happy FM in an interview on Monday, July 16, 2018.

He said "President Akufo-Addo loves sports and wants the game to develop that is why he has formed the academy."

"I am the technical director and I have appointed some people to assist me to achieve that goal. I have travelled across the country scouting talented children for this program”, he said.

“Nana Addo Jnr. is the President of the academy. We have about 60 children and it is a non-residential project. Two of the boys from this programme will be going to Holland. Foreign agents were in the country to monitor the boys,” he concluded.
