The Black Starlets have arrived in Libreville, Gabon, for final preparations towards the Total U17 Africa cup of Nation, Gabon 2017, which starts from May 14 to 28.
The team is made up of 21 players, Technical team of 8, 2 management members and an accountant from Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Coach Paa Kwasi Fabien says the youngsters are focused on reaching the world Cup rather than concentrating on bonus issues.
“From day one I made it clear to the boys that at the Under 17 level you focus on the tournament, play well and get a contract outside the country, so fortunately for me they are focusing on the tournament.â€
The Black Starlets are in group A which is regarded the group of deaths with the Hosts Gabon, Cameroon and Guinea.
Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah has confirmed that wining bonus per match for the Under-17 at the African Junior Championship in Gabon has been slashed to US$ 1,000.
The previous bonus paid the Black Starlets for international matches was US$ 3,000.
