February FIFA rankings: Ghana drops out of top 10 teams in Africa
The Black Stars of Ghana has dropped nine places on the latest rankings released by FIFA, Thursday, February 10.
Ghana is now ranked the 61st best men’s national team in the world according to February’s Africa FIFA rankings released by FIFA.
The Black Stars have shockingly missed out of the top ten (10) best male national teams on the Africa rankings following the country’s disastrous campaign at the just ended 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The current position of the West African nation is the worst-ever place in the last decade. Ghana currently lies in 11th position on the Africa rankings.
GFA confirms date for Black Stars World Cup qualifier against Nigeria
The Ghana Football Association, GFA have finally announced when the Black Stars will renew their rivalry with Nigeria.
According to the GFA, The Black Stars will take on the Super Eagles at the Cape Coast stadium on Thursday, March 24 before travelling to Nigeria for the 2nd leg at the Abuja Sports stadium on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
The 1st leg encounter will be the 58th clash at senior level between the two West African countries in a rivalry spanning seven decades.

The Ghana Football Association, GFA has outlined the role of the Technical Director Bernhard Lippert.
This comes after GFA decision to appoint former Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton as the Technical Advisor of the Black Stars.
Ghanaians believe Bernhard Lippert Technical Director role and Chris Hughton's Technical Advisor role is the same and it's waste of resources to appoint the duo for the same job, however, the GFA come out to explain the former role as stated by FIFA.
