One of the country’s leading mortgage finance institutions, Ghana Home Loans Limited has signed a partnership with a contemporary in the real estate development industry – Appolonia City – Ghana.
The disclosure was made by the CEO of Appolonia City Ghana, Bright Owusu-Amofah in an encounter with some members of the media on Wednesday – August 2nd.
The partnership will involve the construction of a hundred housing unit in Accra between 2017 and 2019.
The development also forms part of a growing collaboration between the public and private sectors in addressing Ghana’s high housing deficit that now stands at over 1.7 million.
The real estate executive - Mr. Owusu noted that Appolonia is using [its] leverage to get the Ghana Home Loans to make it flexible for people to access funding. So we are coming together with our respective expertise to create something that Ghanaians can affordâ€. Â
Commenting on the development, the CEO of Ghana Home Loans, Dominic Adu expressed confidence in the partnership and its potential to lessen the burden on the government in solving Ghana’s housing issues.
He pointed out that “If we have scale, we will be able to bring the cost down and that can be passed to the eventual borrower to fund their housing acquisitionâ€.
