Government has released one hundred and six million Ghana cedis for the payment of feeding grants for second cycle schools. The school feeding programme has seen some setbacks due to financial constrains over the years.

The amount is in respect of the third feeding grant for 137, 300 students for the 2015-2016 academic year and 140,264 o students for the first term of 2016-2017 academic year.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Finance said payments in respect of third term for 2015-16, the first term of 2016-17 and the expected payment for the second term of 2016-17 all amounting to more than one hundred and 85 million are outstanding.

The statement said the ministry is processing the remaining claims for the second and third terms of the 2016-17 academic year.
