UBA boss wins 2017 Woman of Excellence in Finance

UBA Ghana once more emerged tops at the 2017 edition of the annual CFO Awards with its Managing Director, Abiola Bawuah, walking away with the ‘Woman of Excellence in Finance’ award.

The award formed part of the Special Recognition Awards given to some specific departments and personalities in various financial institutions in the country.

A statement from the CFO team noted that: “The Bank secured the Best Bank, Risk Management for its strong risk management practices built into its business operations, which has protected the institution from numerous emerging threats; whiles Mrs Bawuah, the MD of the Bank, was adjudged Woman of Excellence in Finance as part of the Special Recognition Awards”.

Commenting on the achievement of the bank at the CFO awards, Mrs. Bawuah said she was “encouraged through this recognition to spur everyone out there on to focus and continue contributing their best to their organizations”.

The CFO Awards now in its third year, was established to celebrate notable achievements, innovation and vision of CFOs of listed industries.

It involves the recognition of finance executives, teams and leading organizations across the country with exceptional leadership in various benchmarks of the financial sector.
