Akufo-Addo begins second phase of West African tour.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo left Accra on Monday to begin the second phase of of his tour of West Africa.

A statement from the flagstaff house said the president will visit Senegal, Guinea and Cape Verde. He will return home on May 21.

President Akufo-Addo will travel to Conakry immediately after the Dakar visit and will leave on Friday, May 19 for Praia, where he will be for two days.

The visits will afford the President an opportunity to introduce himself, as the new Ghanaian leader, formally to the governments and people of West Africa. He will as well explore and deepen bilateral relations with them, and reiterate Ghana’s full commitment to the ECOWAS project.”

Other officials travelling with the President include Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, officials of the Presidency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Nana Akufo-Addo is expected back home on the 21st of May
