Government has disclosed that funds for the implementation of the free SHS policy will be released to all schools by Friday, 8th September.
Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Adu-Twum speaking at the 55th National Conference of Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools in Ho Wednesday said, “Your money will come to you. We have no reason to keep your money. We are making every effort….and we will not ask you to come for your cheques…we will send it to your banks. So don’t worry the money will hit your accountsâ€.

Â
CHASS is also demanding a blueprint for the implementation of the policy. The blueprint, according to the President of CHASS, Cecilia Kwakye Cofie would guide school heads to effectively implement the policy.
Â
She indicated that the blueprint referred to as the ‘free SHS bible’ will help school authorities not to overstep their bounds in ensuring the success of the policy.
Â
The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) has cast doubt over the Friday deadline given by the government.
This is because the government had failed to honour an earlier promise to release money to Heads of Schools two weeks to the reopening of schools. Â

Meanwhile, schools reopen in 5 days but the sponsorship package is yet to be released.Â
Over 400,000 prospective SHS students are expected to benefit from the free education policy which kick starts next week.
