Asante Kotoko Policy Analyst, Yaw Amo Sarpong has hailed head coach C.K Akonnor for guiding the club to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Amo Sarpong, speaking on Oyerepa FM in Kumasi defended the Club's decision to settle on the former Black Stars captain and has praised him on his technical acumen since joining the Porcupine Warriors and wants supporters of the club to exercise patience for Charles 'CK' Akonnor.
Akonnor came under criticism following Porcupine Warriors' 1-1 draw with AshantiGold in the JA Kufuor Cup earlier this month to the extent of a supporter threatened to deprive him of training with the team.
He assumed duty as coach of the Kumasi-based side in October last year, signing a three-year deal to replace Samuel Paa Kwasi Fabin.
"Settling on CK Akunnor is the best decision we have taken and it is paying off," Amo Sarpong stated.
"His abilities and technical know-how has brought us this far."
"We are proud of this decision. It has paid off", he ended.
Asante Kotoko are set to take on Al Hilal Omdurman in the opening Group C tie in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday in Sudan.
Asante Kotoko have been pooled in Group C with Zambian duo Zesco United and Nkana FC, Sudanese's Al Hilal in the 2018/2019 Total CAF Confederation Cup. Â
