Kwesi Nyantakyi appointed First Vice President of CAF

President Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi has been appointed the 1st Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Following the appointment, he has becomes the second most powerful person as far as African football is concerned. 

His appointment came during new President Ahmad Ahmad's maiden CAF Executive Committee meeting on Monday morning.

Mr. Nyantakyi has also become the first Ghanaian to attain the position in African football in addition to his FIFA executive committee position.

Nyantakyi was instrumental in Ahmad's historic victory over long-serving Issa Hayatou. The GFA boss would assist the new President to run the affairs of football on the continent for the next four years.

 The legal practitioner has been serving as a CAF executive committee member for almost a decade and might be considering the position of CAF boss in the near future.

Constant Omari of the DR Congo has been named as the second Vice President.
