Ghanaian football administrator, Kojo Yankah, has taken action against the Ghanaian government for their alleged involved in the Ghana Premier League.
Yankah has confirmed that he has written a letter to FIFA in the hopes of blowing the whistle on the ministries recent take-over of the GPL’s Special Competition games and it has been confirmed by the World's football governing body.
Kojo Yankah, who doubles as the Western region football boss, says the Sports Ministry's decision to bypass the Normalization Committee to organize a competition for local clubs to keep players active is "unconstitutional and unwarranted"
While refusing to give details on the content of the petition, the outspoken football administrator confirmed receiving an acknowledgment from the world governing body.
"They are destroying our football and we'll not sit down and allow that to happen," Yankah told Asempa FM's this morning.
"Where in the world does a ministry organise competition for clubs? I have written to FIFA and copied the FA. FIFA has acknowledged receipt of my letter.
Yankah’s action may land the GFA in serious bother, if the 2018 suspension of Sierra Leone over similar deeds is anything to go by.
"At the moment, I am waiting to the action of FIFA. We are destroying our game on the altar of normalising football. It's unconstitutional,†he concluded.
The interim Ghana FA has been told to focus on reviewing status and activate the processes for elections, in what appears a damning assessment of their tenure so far.
