Police investigate East Legon accident that claimed 2 lives

The Ghana Police Service has begun an investigation into the fatal accident that claimed two lives and left others injured at East Legon, Accra over the weekend.

In a statement, the Police said a preliminary investigation has identified the suspect driver as Salifu Amoako, who rammed his vehicle into another vehicle on Dzanie Ashie Street at East Legon.

“Both vehicles caught fire and burnt beyond recognition,” the police added in a statement issued on Monday.

The statement added that, the driver and other surviving victims are currently receiving medical attention.

“Meanwhile, one of the surviving victims has since been treated and discharged, while the bodies of the deceased victims have been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy,” it noted.
